Fact-Check Timor-Leste is an impartial initiative that aims to verify public statements and media reports. Claims will be fact checked for accuracy using credible data and information.
The fact-checking service will operate according to the strict principles of impartiality, transparency and accuracy.
Fact-Check Timor-Leste will issue timely reports and statements on the accuracy or truthfulness of various claims and statements.

STOP HOAX as an Online Fact-Checking program in Timor-Leste which was established in January 2020.
The aim of STOP HOAX Timor-Leste is to provide training for journalists on how to do Fact-Checking, and also to activate them as digital literacy partners.
STOP HOAX Timor-Leste will also provide training to young people and housewives to know the dangers of hoaxes, efforts to stop spreading hoaxes, and there is skill to verify facts in a simple way.
By equipping them with the ability to verify the facts, it is hoped that these targets can protect themselves and protect their families from the dangers of the hoax.

Sophisticated information technology does not bring a more calm life but makes our social life disrupted because of the rise of hoaxes. Not something that can be easily eradicated, the target of his attack targeting almost all circles.

Team
Responsible for the Timor-Leste Fact-Check website are Raimundos Oki and Armindo de Jesus. This website is managed by Raimundos Oki, Armindo de Jesus who has received basic training on the Online Fact-Checking and Verification method from the Google News Initiative in Singapore in 2018 and 2019.
Raimundos Oki was a full time journalist from 2009 to 2018, and from 2018 until now as a Freelance Journalist and contributor to The Associated Press (AP), Jiji Press, and TEMPO correspondent journalist, in Dili, Timor-Leste.
Raimundos Oki has participated in the Online Fact-Checking training twice (2018 - 2019) provided by the Google News Initiative at the Google Asia Pacific Headquarters in Singapore on how to use several tools to combat disinformation and misinformation, especially false information spread on social media platforms.
Armindo de Jesus is an IT Expert for a long time, and has a lot of experience working with UN missions in Timor-Leste, and also in Africa.
